Every contact you add to your Gmail chat list or as a friend in Orkut comes in Gtalk or Google talk. Sometimes it's really useless and annoying to have Gtalk with so many unwanted contacts. If you delete a contact from Gmail chat, the contact does not get deleted from the Gtalk contacts and vice-versa. Here is a simple way to remove contacts from Gtalk/Google Talk.
You have successfully removed the person from your Gtalk/Google Talk contact list.
- Go to Gtalk/Google talk.
- Right click on the contact you want to delete or remove.
- From the drop down menu, select "Remove".
- Confirm and the contact will be removed from your Gtalk/Google Talk contact list.

I was looking to remove some from my contact list.. Anyways thanks for the info!
but wen we click tat remove button it will ask block a person or not??wat would do then?
how do you get them back on your list after you remove them?
To get them back, in your gmail account, go to the left side where the normal chat contacts are displayed. If you type in the name of the contact you removed, a list of drop down will appear to match the name typed. If you highlight the relevant option in the drop down, on the right side there'll be an option saying "Show in chat list". Click on that and Ta-Da!
Ok, but how do you make them go away on your phone after you've removed them from the desktop app? I've resynced my account repeatedly and the removed contacts are still showing and I really, really want them to go away.
This function does not remove contact. You can not delete a person permanently in gtalk/gmail.
How do you remove aperson on g talk on an ipad (there's no right click)?
