- First thing is to make sure you have backed up your data. Also know that rooting does cause you to lose your warranty.
- Now you need to download all he files necessary to Root Your Samsung Galaxy Note i717. First download PDA.tar from here. Next download ODIN 1.85 from here. Extract the ODIN download's contents and run the file. First shut down your Galaxy Note by holding the power button.
- Now connect it to your PC and then press and hold the Volume down and Power button. Press the Volume down button when asked.
- ODIN will now detect your Galaxy Note connected to your PC. On ODIN click on PDA and select PDA.tar. Then just click start and wait for the rooting to complete. Do not be alarmed if your Galaxy Note reboots many times during the rooting process.
- When it is completed to check whether rooting was done properly go to the Android Market and Install SuperUser.
