The CyanogenMod 9 ROM for the Samsung Epic 4G brings the Android 4.0.4 experience to the Epic 4G. The ROM is tested and pretty much very stable and doesn't have many notable bugs in it. It is still a beta version but you can download and install it on your device easily with little or no experience flashing ROMs in the past with this tutorial. The CyanogenMod 9 (CM 9) update can be easily applied in a couple of steps.
You will need to flash a couple of files to your Epic 4G. Here is how you can flash a file.
Download the *****.zip to flash.First thing is you need to root the Epic 4G. But for that you will need clockwork mod recovery. For that just flash the below file.
No need to extract. Copy the zip file to the root of the SD Card and do not paste it to any folders in the SD Card. In your phone make sure USB Debugging is enabled, do so Go to Settings then Applications then Development and Enable it.
Now switch off your phone.
After the phone is switched off, enter into recovery mode. To do this, hold the power, volume up and the home button simultaneously.
Now can navigate through recovery mode only with the volume up and down buttons. Select *****.zip and wait for the process to finish.

Next download One Click Root, connect your phone and then follow on screen instructions. Now you have rooted your Epic 4G.
Next you need to flash CyanogenMod 9 and then gapps. Download them from the below links and flash them also.
