Installing CyanogenMod 9 on Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 is an easy process and can be performed on any rooted SL I9003. Samsung Galaxy SL GT-I9003 is a variant of Galaxy S I9000. It has a 4" Super Clear LCD compared to the 4" AMOLED screen of Galaxy S I9003. It has some variations in specifications making it slightly less powerful and more battery efficient! Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 is immensely popular in India and some other European countries as a mid range phone.
First thing you need to do is ensure that your device has Connect to Samsung Kies in USB Mode activated. To do so go to Settings then Wireless & Networks then USB Settings then Enable Kies.
Next download ODIN from here.
Next download the file for the update from above.
Next switch of your device and reboot it into Download Mode. To do so press and Hold the Power Volume Down and Home Buttons.
Now run ODIN and plug in your Device. If your device is properly detected then a section of ODIN should turn Yellow.
Now click on PDA and select the .tar file you downloaded in Step 3.
Now just click Start and wait for the process to finish.
In this process we will be repeating a couple of processes but with small changes such as the files used. First thing you will need to do is install Clockwork Mod Recovery on the device. For that flash this file with Odin. Here is how.
Next you will need to Root the SL I9003, which we covered on an earlier post. So to root check this post.
Next you need to just need to flash CyanogenMod 9 or CM 9 on your device. To do that:
You will need to first download this file and copy it to your SD Card.
Next you need to unplug it and boot into recovery mode. To do that press the power button while holding Volume Up and Home buttons. Next just select install zip from sd card and select the file you copied into the sd card earlier.
Now just wait for the process to finsih and that's it. Now you have installed CyanogenMod 9 on the SL I9003.

Isn't the cyanogen mod model specific? the link that you've given seems generic?
I opened the File link to download the CM9 zip, but instead found a page full of files. No idea which one to pick :S

Sorry, but I9003 is not the same phone as I9000. CM for I9000 won't fit this phone!
