The Samsung Galaxy Series now includes a bunch of Duos phones also. We already covered how to Root and also Unroot the Samsung Galaxy Y Duos earlier. You can view it here. Before getting to the rooting part here is a quick review of the Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos SCH-I589, its specifications and price in India. It is a pretty decent phone as it comes with Dual Sim Of course then the 823 MHz processor, Android 2.3, 3 Mega pixel camera and a lot more. The Dual Sim supports use of 1 CDMA and 1 GSM Sim Card. It comes with a sad 320 x 480 px screen resolution on a 3.5 Inch Screen. It's memory can be expanded up to 32 GB which is prerequisite nowadays. It comes at a price of around Rs. 14,000. Anyway getting back to the point rooting the Samsung Galaxy Ace SCH-I589 is a quick process which is done with a One Click Rooting and Unrooting Application.

  1. First thing you need to do is go down to Settings then Applications then Development and make sure USB Debugging is Enabled.
  2. Next download this file. Download it and then once you finish Run it.
  3. Download this and then run it.
  4. Next just plug in your Device and then Click Root.
  5. If you have a Rooted phone just plug the device in and click Unroot.
That's it. Now you have successfully Rooted or Unrooted. The Application has been tested and found to be working but some people using Windows 7 x64 have received some problems. If you have any doubts feel free to comment.

Has this been tested on Win XP?
Any additional requisite or instructions/tips before rooting. Is this method only specific to Ace Duos SCH-i559?

Dude, downloaded the file, but it looks more of a USB driver pack for all brands. Are you sure this is whats required to root the phone. Can you be more precise on the exact work around.
